The Damond Motorsports Engine Oil Cooler Adapters are the ideal solution for adding an external oil cooler to your Mazda or Ford. Instead of a basic spin-on adapter, our adapters sit atop of the oil filter housing and replaces the factory oil and coolant heat exchanger. This allows you to run factory size or even larger size oil filters, since our adapters do not sit between the housing and the filter like a spin-on adapter would. If you prefer the older style cartridge oil filter housing, our adapters work with that as well. Deleting the factory heat exchanger also has show to reduce not only oil temps with the addition of an oil cooler, but also engine coolant temps. Win win!

To keep things compact in size, we machine the adapter for -8AN size ORB ports, but we include full flow -10AN fittings.

Our thermostatic adapter features a high quality 180F thermostat, to help keep oil temperature regulated and allow the engine oil to get up to temperature quicker. Ideal for cars that see street use and in cars in cooler climates. This adapter also features 3 sensor ports, which are all labeled.

Our non-thermostatic adapter comes with a couple plugs, which themselves have sensor ports, thus allowing for and easy way to integrate oil temperature and oil pressure sensors. Another feature to our non-thermostatic adapter is that you can run 2 oil coolers in parallel, since you could use both sides of the adapter (for this additional fittings are required, so please inquire if you wish to run a dual cooler setup). This adapter is ideal for strictly track driven cars, where oil temps will basically always exceed what the thermostatic unit closes at.

We use a factory Mazda gasket on the adapters as well, allowing you to easily get replacements if needed. We engrave the adapters IN/OUT to clearly show the oil flow path. The adapters also features a stainless dowel pin, for easy locating onto your filter housing.

Each Damond Oil Cooler Adapter comes with the following:

• 1 x Damond Motorsports Oil Cooler Adapter (thermostatic or non-thermostatic)
• 2 x -10AN flare fittings
• 2 x -8ORB plugs with 1/8″ NPT ports (included with the non-thermostatic unit)
• 2-3 x 1/8″ NPT plugs (depending on the adapter)
• 1 x Mazda OEM gasket
• 1 x mounting bolt and washer

On track testing has shown around a 30F decrease in engine oil temperatures and around a 10F decrease in engine coolant temperatures, with this adapter, a remote thermostat, and our 19row oil cooler.

NOTE: we strongly recommend a remote thermostat on any street driven vehicles, or vehicles used in cooler climates.

Additional fitting with a sensor port is available, since on the ST/RS only 1 of the ports on the adapters may be accessible due to the charge piping, and depending on your sensors.
